Hands assembling a layered steel sculpture in the DecoMetal workshop

Steel, shaped into motion.

Sculpture & lightingHandcrafted in New Zealand

We turn sheets of steel into objects with presence — sliced in CAD, cut by laser, and finished by hand, one layer at a time.

      Design

Every form starts in CAD — proportions studied, then sliced into a layered composition.

    2. Layered steel ribs02

      Cut

Each layer is laser-cut from stainless steel, aluminium or corten, then orbital-sanded.

      Build

Layers are aligned on a welded spine and assembled by hand. The spine is then sacrificed.

      Finish

Powder-coated in your colour and mounted on a mirror-polished, laser-etched base. About one week, start to finish.

Most pieces start as a conversation. Choose the model, colour, scale and engraving — we'll design it in steel.
